| Most of us would love the company of a dog. As they say, a dog is a man's best friend. Some dogs could be really cute and adorable but they could be beneficial and be a lot help to us. But how do you get to choose the most perfect dog for you? A dog is just simply a dog so getting the perfect dog is not that hard, or is it? You can't simply choose a dog by simply looking at it and picking it because it is the best looking one. When choosing which dog to get you have to consider some things. You have to bear in mind the different breeds of dogs and its characteristics that would suit you and your family. First, you have to take into account the environment where you are going to have your dog in, and in this case, your home. If you are planning to get large dog breeds like German shepherds or Doberman breeds then you will need large spaces, too. These dogs are not meant to be inside the house or apartments. If you don't have large spaces or areas like a lawn or yard, you can always choose the ones that are of small breeds like a pug, Chihuahua, or miniature poodles. If you have enough space then you can get medium sized dogs such as a Welsh corgi, a basset hound, or Samoyed. | |||||||

Next thing you have to take into consideration are your children. Or if you don't have one yet, are you planning to have one in the future? You should know that some dogs are just not ideal to have when you have small children in the home. Excellent dog breeds that you could have your children play with are a Labrador, Golden Retriever, or Saint Bernard as these dogs are affectionate and playful. You can always train your dogs and have them to get used to playing with your kids but this could take time and be a difficult task for you. And some dogs aren't just meant to be with children. Make sure you know what you are getting when it comes to the dog's breed. There are a lot of dogs in animal shelters to choose from. But there could be a big problem when it comes to a dog's breed as most of these dogs could be generally mixed breeds. You would not be able to determine these dogs' character traits. And most especially, you do not know how these dogs have been raised so you don't know what to expect on how it will behave. There are also the purebred dogs. You might know much about them and even have an idea of their characteristics since you know the bloodline of these dogs. But then getting these kinds of dogs could be expensive and be more prone to inherited diseases if they have purer bloodlines. A garden-variety mutt good be the healthiest dog you can get. Lastly, your lifestyle and personality should also be considered. There are some dogs that can be with you in the run if you are one of the people who has an active lifestyle, and loves to play sports, and there are also dogs that can just lie down with and watch a couple of movies.
